York Logo250x300The York Capitals are happy to announce that they have partnered with The League of Extraordinary Athletes (LEA).

L.E.A. is an organization that provides strong mentoring opportunities for all youths in the York area. L.E.A. offers adult guidance for young people through sports mentor-ship and athletic endeavors.

April Collier, the founder of L.E.A. stated "I saw the need for mentor-ship in the York area and wanted to pair that with my love of sports. Being able to partner with the York Capitals and have the players helping the areas children will only enrich the League of Extraordinary Athletes".

John Morris, owner of the York Capitals said " This absolutely fits the model of what I envisioned for a community based indoor football team. The York community has embraced the York Capitals and we are blessed to be able to give back to the community. This partnership with the League of Extraordinary Athletes brings a wealth of college educated athletes to assist the youth in this program."

ticketsThe York Capitals are tearing down the walls at the York Ice Arena!!!

Due to overwhelming response for more tickets, the crew at the arena has removed a wall allowing for a limited number of additional box seats to become available.

The York Capitals anticipate a sellout crowd for this Saturdays game. If you have already purchased tickets our will-call window will open at 11am on Saturday to help alleviate any waiting time.

As always we will sell you the whole seat but, you will only need the edge.

Blaake ScottAs the season nears the York Capitals would like to introduce you to more of your team.

We are pleased to announce the addition of fullback Blaake Scott. Blaake is from Pasadena Md. He stands 5'10" and cuts a wide path at 258 pounds. Blaake attended Lackawanna College.

Blaake looks to be an important factor on our road to victory, his training regimen is "The only easy day was yesterday". Blaake credits his mother Cheryl with being his solid influence in his life.

Blaake is a lion on the field and extremely nice off the field. We are sure that our York Capitals fans will make Blaake feel right at home.

AFTER THE GAME

The York Capitals are happy to announce that your game experience doesn't have to end with the last whistle.

We have partnered with Vitos Restaurant  for the Official Aftergame party of the York Capitals. Here is your chance to mingle with the players, coaches, owner, and dance team after the game. All ages are welcome at this restaurant and we encourage you to stop by after the game and relax with your York Capitals on our road to the AIF championship.

Councilman Helfrich will be conducting the coin toss at our game. Councilman Helfrich said he was extremely excited to have the York Capitals in the city.

HerbFM Sports Radio will be broadcasting 2 Live AIF Football Games on Easter Weekend.

The Broadcast Start Friday March 29th at 7pm when the upstart Washington Eagles, with Quarterback  Kareem Dennis travels down 1-95 to Fayetteville North Carolina to take on 2012 AIF Champions Cape Fear Heroes.

Then on Saturday March 30th Live at 4:45pm from PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg PA - the West Virginia Badgers open their 2013 season with a tough road game against  Jermaine Thaxton and the Harrisburg Stampede defense.

l2l17The Cape Fear Heroes are pleased to announce their opening game on March 29th against the Washington Eagles will be carried live on the MHE Sports Network.

MHE is an internet based sports network from Durham North Carolina that video streams live sporting events, Mike Wood will be the play by play announcer for this game, Mike is the host of the MHE Sports Network signature show the Overtime Sports Show that airs Monday thru Friday in the 1:30 to 2:30 pm time slot.

This broadcast will enable the Heroes to increase their out of town fan base, fans will be able to view the opening game of the 2013 season as well as the special ceremonies slated for that evening. In addition with the Heroes new affiliation with the Bahamas American Football Federation (BAFF) this will allow our new fans though out the Bahamas to view and enjoy this professional arena football game.

The telecast will air on March 29th and will begin at 7:15 pm (EST) with a special pregame ceremony followed by the game kickoff at 7:30 pm.

l1l17After a slow start, the Washington Eagles climbed their way back in the game but fell short to the Harrisburg Stampede by the score 56-25.

Season Opener for both teams at PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg PA 

The Washington Eagles came out of the gate scoring the first points of 2013 season with a rouge by Eagles Placekicker Jerome Thompson but after that it was all Stampede with 2012 AIF Offense player of the Year EJ Nemeth scoring the first two TD on the ground and the Stampede never look back beating Washington Eagles by the score of 56-25 

Nemeth who was 10-18 for 107yards with Three TD passing to go along with his three rushing TD’s was the offense the Stampede needed to win their Opener of 2013 season 

The quarterback for the Eagles Kareem Dennis, started off the game 0-4 in passing and then kicked off the rust and threw for 187 yards and 4 Td’s but it wasn’t enough to beat the Stampede.

Both teams are off next weekend with early season byes but both teams are back in action on Easter weekend.

Washington will be traveling to Fayettville North Carolina to play 2012 AIF Champs Cape Fear Heroes on March 29th at 7pm and Harrisburg will be home to play the WV Badgers on March 30th at 5pm. You can catch all the games live on HerbFM Sports Radio at www.herbfm.com
