We regret to inform the fans of the AIF and the Cape Fear Heroes that the Sports Editor, Thomas Pope of the Fayetteville Observer has required the AIF to remove all their articles about the Cape Fear Heroes from the league website. They cited copyright infringement and unlike all the other news organizations that the American Indoor Football league cooperates with when posting articles relating to the teams and the league, the Fayetteville Observer has decided they only wanted a single link back to their website for the article.In compliance, and after discussions with the Cape Fear Heroes, we have removed their articles from the league site and have chosen to not provide the link either. After uninhibited access that the Cape Fear Heroes has given to the Fayetteville Observer, it is surprising that the Observer has taken this position. Therefore, the Cape Fear Heroes have decided to make the Fayetteville Press their official news organization for the Playoff and potential Championship games.
We encourage the fans to follow the Fayetteville Press - http://www.fayettevillepress.com for all your Cape Fear Heroes news. It is our belief that fans want as much information on their favorite teams. It was and is the league's intentions to provide our fans with a resource that allows them to get current news and information on their favorite team. We want to thank all the news organizations that have chosen to cooperate with the league to give the fans the access they want and deserve.
