The Ontario Warriors come as advertised. Much better than their opponents.

Sunday at Citizens Business Bank Arena, that was quantified as 92-0. Correct. Ninety-two to nothing.

It wasn't so much of a football game as a truck running over a tricycle.

Apparently the Warriors are very good, but we really haven't learned a lot. The local American Indoor Football team is 5-0, but all five wins have come over the same two teams. Ontario has hammered Arizona three times, including Sunday's pasting, and the California Eagles twice.

But nothing as bad as this massacre. Only a sadist — or maybe just a regular sports fan rooting for his local crew — wouldn't have liked to see the visiting Outlaws score a touchdown. Or maybe even gain a few yards.

The Outlaws spent much of the afternoon living down to their name, running like the Pinkertons were after them, mostly in the wrong direction. Arizona's total yardage was minus-90. And they call this an offense-minded sport?

The Warriors defense collected four safeties, which may be more remarkable than the final score. The game was pretty much encapsulated in one play, late in the first half. Battered and bruised Arizona quarterback Lance Walker scrambled into the end zone, and rather than take one more crushing hit by a pack of relentlessly pursuing Warriors, flipped the ball into the stands for a deliberate safety.
