Harrisburg Stampede’s Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that the Stampede has signed DL Daniel Orlebar for the remainder of 2012 Season.
Daniel comes to the Stampede with a wealth of football experience, including a stellar Indoor career. The Sterling, Virginia native played his high school football in Loudon County Virginia at DeMatha Catholic. He was a 3 year Letterman and was named to the Washington Post All-Prep Team. He then went on to play college football at Wake Forest and Appalachian State. As a member of the Mountaineers, Daniel was named as an Academic All American.
Daniel has been a part of 5 Championship Teams in his football career. At DeMatha, his team earned 2 Titles. He was also a part of the Appalachian State Championship Teams of 2005 and 2006. Daniel was a part of the 2010 Baltimore Mariners AIFA Championship Team.
Orlebar has been in the Indoor game for a few seasons. His Indoor playing started with the Mahoney Valley Thunder. A Championship stay in Baltimore with the Mariners and then a stop with Reading. We are extremely excited to pick up “O” at this point of the season. He brings size and strength to our D-Line. At 6’3 and 290lbs and a strong sense of his position, he gives our defense an added boost as we get ready to make a run at the Play-Offs. We expect to see “O” on the field at next week’s game on Saturday April 28.
Just a Reminder: Stampede’s Next Game is Saturday April 28th at 7:05pm…Come out and meet NFL Great, Andre Reed who will be doing an Autograph session at the Harrisburg Mall from 12 to 2…go to the Stampede Web Site for Ticket availability
