The AIF will be holding its 2012 All-Star Classic this summer in Cancun Mexico. This event will help us reward our players and coaches while promoting the sport of indoor football in a foreign county. The AIF will be teaching at numerous youth and high school football clinics during the week as well as making player appearances in the community.

American Gridiron Football as it is known is a relatively a small sport in Mexico however football has been played professionally in the country since the early 1900s. The first Mexican club, C.F. Pachuca, is still well in existence. Since 1996, the country has played two split seasons instead of a traditional long season. There are two separate playoff and league divisions. This system is common throughout Latin America.

Cancun Mexico is a relatively new tourist destination. Only about 30 years ago, in the 70s, the former Mexican president Echeverilla started an ambitious project to build up a tourism center larger and brighter than Acapulco was at the time. This brand new, world-class resort was planned to be build on the Yucatan Peninsula in southern Mexico.

Once a forgotten jungle village, Cancun has grown into one of the world's greatest and most visited vacation resorts. Especially during the first two decades, the Mexican government pushed the project by investing itself vast amounts of money into the infrastructure of the area. Today, Cancun Mexico has well paved roads, stable water and electricity supply and everything one would expect from a world class resort area.

Cancun Mexico has also one of the largest reef systems worldwide and the unique Cenotes for scuba divers. And it has great and friendly people living in and around Cancun.
